A Welcome from the Headteacher, Mrs Sellars
I am delighted to welcome you to Brownlow Primary School. We are a large school of over 500 pupils, yet we maintain a family feel with a strong community ethos.
Selecting a school for your child is a daunting process and we realise how important it is to feel trust in the people that care for your child each day. Each of our staff is highly dedicated and will always go the extra mile to ensure that every child is valued, inspired and engaged. We live by our ‘Happy, Healthy and High achieving’ motto and this is embedded into our curriculum. Our curriculum is inclusive, creative, ambitious and enquiry led. We aim to master the basics we need for life in reading, writing and maths as well as develop our knowledge and curiosity of the world. We strive to develop children who have a knowledge of the world that will grow into citizens who make a difference to our community and beyond. Please see our curriculum pages for more details.
We believe that education is about the entire child, their well-being and enrichment as well as their academic achievement. Over the last couple of years, we have worked as a team to enhance the academic success, curriculum, outdoor environment and appearance of our school and there is still more to come! We pride ourselves on our PE and Music achievements.
At Brownlow we are proud to be part of the Mowbray Education Trust. This partnership allows true collaboration across its schools which benefits our children enormously.
We strongly recommend that you come and have a look for yourselves and feel the warmth of our school.
Mrs Vicky Sellars
Headteacher
A message from Miss Child, our Deputy Headteacher and SENCO
Starting school is an important milestone for children at Brownlow, and we will strive to make this a positive experience for both you and your child. We aim to offer a rich and engaging school experience that inspires every child to achieve their full potential. We have a very dedicated team who will ensure your child receives the best possible start to their school journey.
We believe it is important to provide a safe, nurturing and caring environment where every child can achieve. We want them to become curious, resilient and confident learners who embrace new challenges and strive towards excellence in all they do.
Establishing positive relationships between our parents, the community and the school is of paramount importance, and we look forward to welcoming you into school to share your child’s successes and achievements.
We pride ourselves in our school values and our aim is to ensure our pupils are happy, healthy and high achieving.
I look forward to working with you to support your child’s time at Brownlow.
Miss Sarah Child
We are proud to belong to a Mutli Academy Trust called the Mowbray Education Trust. This means that we work closely with five other local schools and one pre-school setting within the Melton Mowbray district and an additional Secondary school in Shepshed, Leicestershire.
We are pleased to share the news that Iveshead School has now officially joined the Mowbray Education Trust family as of 1st December 2022.
We are delighted to welcome all of Iveshead's fantastic students, inspiring staff and wonderful families and community on board. This is an exciting new phase for both the school and the Trust and will build on the collaborative work we have been doing together to help support the continued improvements of Iveshead.
Iveshead offers a supportive and welcoming community and a successful approach to education that supports students to develop the skills and confidence they need to thrive in the world beyond school. Joining Mowbray has therefore been a natural fit as we share these same values and have a Children First approach to everything we do.
We are confident that by working together, Iveshead, its students and wider school community will continue to go from strength to strength. I speak on behalf of the whole Mowbray family when I say how excited we are to be taking forward these next steps with you all.
Christine Stansfield
CEO of the Mowbray Education Trust
