A Welcome from the Executive Headteacher
Brownlow Primary School is a large, but friendly, school situated near the centre of the market town of Melton Mowbray - the rural capital of food. We are proud of the local links to food and farming and the heritage of our town through the famous Pork Pie.
The school building has undergone a makeover during the summer of 2022 and is now bright, warm and welcoming for our pupils, their parents and the community who have happy memories from the building being the former Boys Modern Secondary School.
All the staff work hard to provide a caring and supportive atmosphere where children are encouraged to be self disciplined, creative and motivated to produce a high standard of achievment in all areas of the curriculum. We want our pupils to develop confidence and pleasure in learning, to acquire and build upon the basic tools of literacy and numeracy, and to evolve the personal positive attitudes of respect for others.
I have the pleasure of serving as the Executive Lead for Primaries across the Mowbray Trust and hope you find what you need from our Brownlow website. If you need more information or clarification on any details then please contact us. Our school Office Manager, Mrs Hazeldine, will be happy to help with any of your queries.

A Welcome message from our Heads of School.
Mrs Sellars and Miss Child lead the day to day running of Brownlow School and take responsibilties between them of Academic and Inclusion Leaders.
Starting school is an important milestone for children at Brownlow, and we will strive to make this a positive experience for both you and your child. We aim to offer a rich and engaging school experience that inspires every child to achieve their full potential. We have a very dedicated team who will ensure your child receives the best possible start to their school journey.
We believe it is important to provide a safe, nurturing and caring environment where every child can achieve. We want them to become curious, resilient and confident learners who embrace new challenges and strive towards excellence in all they do.
Establishing positive relationships between our parents, the community and the school is of paramount importance, and we look forward to welcoming you into school to share your child’s successes and achievements.
We pride ourselves in our school values and our aim is to ensure our pupils are happy, healthy and high achieving.
I look forward to working with you to support your child’s time at Brownlow.
Miss Sarah Child
We are proud to belong to a Mutli Academy Trust called the Mowbray Education Trust. This means that we work closely with five other local schools and one pre-school setting within the Melton Mowbray district and an additional Secondary school in Shepshed, Leicestershire.
We are pleased to share the news that Iveshead School has now officially joined the Mowbray Education Trust family as of 1st December 2022.
We are delighted to welcome all of Iveshead's fantastic students, inspiring staff and wonderful families and community on board. This is an exciting new phase for both the school and the Trust and will build on the collaborative work we have been doing together to help support the continued improvements of Iveshead.
Iveshead offers a supportive and welcoming community and a successful approach to education that supports students to develop the skills and confidence they need to thrive in the world beyond school. Joining Mowbray has therefore been a natural fit as we share these same values and have a Children First approach to everything we do.
We are confident that by working together, Iveshead, its students and wider school community will continue to go from strength to strength. I speak on behalf of the whole Mowbray family when I say how excited we are to be taking forward these next steps with you all.
Christine Stansfield
CEO of the Mowbray Education Trust
